The Leuser Ecosystem is the last place on Earth where orangutans, elephants, and tigers coexist in the wild. This landscape spans over 6 million acres and houses the largest intact forest remaining on the island of Sumatra, Indonesia.
Rainforest Trust and our partner (FKL) have been working together since 2016 to safeguard critical portions of the Leuser Ecosystem. We are teaming up to protect an additional 2,472 acres of intact forest for Sumatran Tigers, as well as Sumatran Orangutans and Asian Elephants.
Your generous support to protect the Leuser Ecosystem and create a haven for rare Sumatran species will ensuring that these beautiful rare species survive and thrive.
Thank you for doing this Lindsey and Booker! We need more people like you to protect the earth and it’s coolest animals! I unfortunately won’t be able to join you on the 24th, but good luck!
This is very interesting and we are happy to help, although we probably won’t make the zoom call. Thanks for your efforts!
