Help Protect Vital Habitat for Pangolins in Myanmar
Thanks to generous support from our donors, we have successfully reached our fundraising goal for this project.
Pangolins are one of the most trafficked species on the planet. Each year, tens of thousands are poached for their scales and meat as traditional medicine and luxury food.
There are a total of eight pangolin species spread throughout Africa and Asia, and while the demand in Asia drives poaching, populations on both continents are in serious decline. Currently, six of the eight species are either Critically Endangered or Endangered.
Protecting pangolins is a conservation priority for Rainforest Trust. We work to safeguard their habitat, which is the first–and fundamental–step in their protection from outside threats.
Help Create the Zalon-Tuang National Park
The new protected area will span over 60,000 acres of forest habitat, and is one of the few places in the world where the ranges of the Critically Endangered Sunda Pangolin and Chinese Pangolin intersect.
