WHY IS EARTH DAY IMPORTANT?
This year the world is celebrating the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, an annual event that demonstrates global support for environmental protection. For over 30 years Rainforest Trust has supported Earth Day’s mission by protecting the most threatened tropical forests, saving endangered wildlife through partnerships and community engagement.
Now we want to know: why is Earth Day important to you? Why is Earth Day important today and why is it important for the future?
Answer any or all of these questions by submitting a photograph taken by yourself and submitted to Rainforest Trust by April 10, 2020. Winning pieces will be featured on our website and social media.

WHAT IS EARTH DAY?
Earth Day is an annual event celebrated around the world on April 22 to demonstrate support for environmental protection. First celebrated in 1970, it now includes events coordinated globally by the Earth Day Network in more than 193 countries.
On Earth Day 2016, the landmark Paris Agreement was signed by the United States, China, and some 120 other countries.
